Project at a Glance. A metal products plant in Dongguan generated high-strength wastewater from aluminum and magnesium machining fluids.
Treatment Approach. An emulsion breaker was used in pretreatment to destabilize the wastewater emulsion before solid-liquid separation. The source reports reductions in petroleum-related contamination and CODCr, which lowered the load on the downstream biological process and improved biodegradability.
