Project at a Glance. A food-waste recycling facility in Guangzhou, Guangdong covers more than 9,000 m² and processes approximately 400 metric tons of source-separated food waste per day. The enclosed production area used two exhaust collection lines with a combined airflow of about 10,000 m³/h. The existing treatment train included acid scrubbing, alkaline scrubbing and chemical odor-control spraying.
Challenge. Insufficient negative pressure and incomplete enclosure allowed process odors to escape. The vehicle entrance, unloading area, internal material-handling zones and wastewater treatment area also required better control of fugitive emissions.
Treatment Approach. The upgrade combined improved negative-pressure control and sealing with operating-parameter adjustments. Atomized pretreatment was added at high-odor locations, while the vehicle entrance used localized spraying and an air-curtain arrangement to reduce odor migration.
