Solid Waste and Landfill Leachate Treatment Chemicals

Products for waste-site odors, leachate foam, high COD and ammonia, biological treatment, evaporation and membranes.

Waste transfer stations, landfill receiving areas, waste storage pits, composting and leachate plants can generate strong odors and difficult wastewater. Leachate may contain high COD, ammonia, salinity and surfactants and often uses biological treatment followed by membrane or evaporation systems.

GZXZEP supplies a waste-facility odor product and selected defoamers, microbial cultures, carbon sources and membrane chemicals for these treatment stages.

Match Your Treatment Challenge to the Right Product

Treatment challenge Treatment approach Relevant GZXZEP products Application point
Waste and leachate odors Apply a waste-facility grade through suitable spray or wet scrubber equipment. NPD1013 Plant-Based Deodorizer Transfer, storage, composting and leachate areas
Leachate process foam Use the leachate-specific defoamer after testing. XZ8605L Landfill Leachate Defoamer Equalization or biological treatment
High COD and ammonia Evaluate biological cultures after toxicity review. XZ8811; XZ8821; XZ8861 Biological treatment
Low-C/N nitrate removal Supply carbon and evaluate denitrifying culture. NBC-70W or NBC-44WS; XZ8822 Anoxic tank
MVR or membrane operation Use process-specific foam and membrane products. XZ-0188; XZ9901/XZ9902/XZ9903/XZ9905/XZ9906 MVR, RO/NF feed and CIP

Odor Control for Solid Waste Facilities

NPD1013 is developed for waste transfer stations, landfills, composting and leachate odor areas. It can be diluted for compatible fog cannon, misting, spraying or wet-scrubber systems. Application should follow the collected-air and site odor-control plan.

Leachate Foam and Biological Treatment

XZ8605L is formulated for high-COD, high-ammonia, surfactant-rich leachate systems and should be checked for downstream membrane compatibility. XZ8811 supports COD treatment, while XZ8821 and XZ8861 may be evaluated for ammonia conversion.

Denitrification MVR and Membranes

NBC-70W or NBC-44WS supports nitrate removal where carbon is insufficient. XZ-0188 addresses MVR foam. RO products require feedwater analysis and membrane compatibility; mature biofilm may require a separate cleaning program.

Application Based Evaluation and Technical Support

  1. Review the treatment challenge. Share the wastewater source, process layout, recent analysis, operating conditions and treatment target.
  2. Select the relevant evaluation. Use a test suited to the product, such as jar testing, biological trials, foam testing, odor-contact trials or membrane compatibility review.
  3. Run a controlled site trial. Record baseline conditions, dosing point, product consumption and the indicators relevant to the selected treatment.
  4. Optimize the treatment program. Adjust the product and dose using operating data and check downstream effects before routine use.

GZXZEP provides product selection, laboratory evaluation and application support. Final performance depends on wastewater characteristics, process conditions, equipment and site operation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which odor product is intended for landfills and transfer stations?

NPD1013 is the listed grade for municipal waste facilities, composting and leachate odor areas.

Which defoamer is intended for landfill leachate?

XZ8605L is the listed leachate defoamer. Confirm dose and downstream membrane compatibility by testing.

Can one product address both MVR foam and biological foam?

Use XZ-0188 for MVR service and XZ8605L for leachate treatment foam. Do not substitute without testing.

What information is needed for product selection?

Provide the wastewater source, flow, recent analysis, current treatment process, chemicals now in use and the required discharge or reuse target. A sample may be requested after the initial review.
